Great news!!!!

Dear Jaden's FanClub,
I fell prey to the "woe is me" I am so helpless post this week. Knowing that Jaden was having one of the darkest weeks yet. Bed ridden because he was in such pain, crying out...not able nor wanting to eat food or drink. Passing on his "bink" ... THE BINK!!??
I struggled and struggled with what to write to you all. Crumbling ... writing this post... thinkin of Julie and her family. If I felt so helpless... Lord.. how they must feel.
At the point that I composed this post : I had no good news. He consumed my every thought and prayers and I was willing him to be better. But continued news of his struggles defeated my faith in what we, " you and I " were doing. That somehow... our prayers and thoughts were simply not enough. They weren't working. I decided to hold off on posting. I had a wedding to go to. A celebration of a couples new journey. I was hoping that while I was at the wedding... news would come that would help me to compose this in a different light.
The pastor presiding over the service had such beautiful words of hope for the couple and their journey to be. She said these words to the couple " ...should God bless you with children..."
And I thought to myself. What a true blessing they are. For however long we have them. What an incredible incredible gift. I prayed for Jaden and for his family sitting in that church. I prayed that their gift would not be taken. I watched my children at their very first weddding enjoying the spoils of a reception. Cookies , cakes and candy. I thought of Jaden. I watched them boogie down on the dance floor, do their first " chicken dance' and thought of Jaden. How awesome it would be to see him chicken dance. And when I tucked their sleepy, worn out, overtired little heads into bed last night I thought of Jaden. In that hospital bed. And then realized what a GIFT he IS TO ALL OF US.
He's a double gift from God. For his family and for US. REMINDING US.. if even for a second. That life is fleeting. To find joy in the moment and to love like there is no tomorrow.
I put away my things, looked at my tornado strewn house with a sigh...and sat down to check my email to finally compose this post.

9/7/07 early morning
Great news!!!!
He actually drank 4 Capri Suns this morning, it has been over a week since he wanted to drink anything. I believe we have turned the bend, counts are looking better. Now he just needs to eat something. He said he wanted salami ... not too sure that will happen, but at least he is thinking about eating.

We are encouraged that our little guy has again stepped up to the plate and is drinking (ands voiding) like a champ. He has had 11 Capri Suns so far today, that is almost a full box!!!!! He has a lot of ground to recover. Now, all he has to do is eat. It will take a little time to wean him off the IV meds that have been sustaining him this horrendous week. We are hoping that he will be home sometime on Monday. This event has been very tough for Jaden and the whole family. Hopefully, he will be able to recover this week, before beginning pukey Round 5. Chemo is never a good thing for anyone. You hear people talk about it, but we don't have a clue of how hard this is. The family is spent. Please continue to pray for them all. They need strength. We thank everyone for all of their concern and prayers. It is so hard to sit on the sidelines and not be able to do a thing, so the best we can do is continue to pray. There is a God and he will get us thru this! :-)

I just got done reading today's post and as I always say - GREAT JOB!
Pappy went down to the hosp. to take some nourishment in for Julie.
They had disconnected all of Jaden's lines and he was running up and down the halls!!!!
The Dr. came in and said "YOU CAN GO HOME RIGHT NOW".
So they are on their way home!!!!!
Thought you would enjoy knowing this new info!

We are not helpless. We are the rock that keeps them going. Your prayers and thoughts are ENOUGH and have made a difference. God hears us screaming: NO!!! God hears us all collectively SCREAMING : please!!
God hears our tears when we cry for this family.
Jaden can do this.
And so can we.
" the family is spent- they need strength"
Leave the family a message: fill up the recesses of where they find strength.
